A New Frontier for Advertisement
Sizmek is the single largest ad-server in the world, providing services to over 42,000 customers. They have an expansive operation, covering more than 70 countries.They are well-known locally in Austin, Texas ("Silicon Hills") as one of the premier rapidly-growing technology firms in the area. They have grown via a mix of organic growth and acquisition.
Workforce Discoveries
Sizmek's workforce is largely comprised of high-tech employees in competitive talent marketplaces. And as we know, retention is the best form of recruiting. When we started our partnership, their goal was to understand what drives their turnover, and how to get ahead of it.By leveraging our technology, the Sizmek HR team was able to make many (confidential) discoveries around how compensation (both salary and sales compensation), internal mobility, management, and other controllable events relate to retention.
For example, we discovered that there are certain periods in an employee's career where different events are important. There are "impact points" where compensation becomes highly important to retention. There are other impact points where mobility or engagement become the most important. By understanding these impact points in an employee's career, the HR team is able to proactively reduce turnover of key employees.
Injecting Some Strategic Data
Sizmek already had an existing, successful reporting practice. They were able to show historical turnover, headcount, and hiring trends. These reports were being used widely throughout the organization.Where Novel came in was to leverage its technology to advance Sizmek's reporting practice even further. To get predictive algorithms, correlaton analysis, and hard-hitting strategic analytics, you can do one of two things. One, spend six figures on a software package and hire analyst(s) to use it. Two, hire us. They chose the latter.
Today, they deliver strategic quarterly reports to HR, management, and the executive team. These reports show current and shifting turnover risks by area and function.
The reports also provide a list of all "at-risk" employees; those who are currently the highest risks to leave the organization voluntarily. Making it even more strategic is the fact that for each "at-risk" employee, our technology shows their team the underlying root causes for the turnover risk, and what they can do to reduce said risk.
In just one year, Sizmek has significantly reduced turnover of their key employee group and increased organizational tenure.
